Town council discusses recycling carts and possible community garden

An earlier article in theTimes had reported that town staff was checking contents of the blue recycling bins to determine if the contents were according to regulations.

Town staff found several recycle bins that were 小蓝视频 filled improperly and several had to be removed by the town.

The new resolution implemented by the town is as follows: first offence, a warning; second offence, cart is removed and a $25 fine is imposed before the cart is returned, and third offence, cart is removed and a $50 fine imposed before the cart is returned.

Candace Nelson, who works for SIGN (The Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbors) out of the former Sunrise Health office in Kamsack, has approached council to propose a community garden. Council decided to invite Nelson to the meeting on April 23 for discussion.

It was decided that funds raised by the Kamsack Recreation Board, for which the town issues charitable receipts, will be placed in the recreation reserve fund until recommendations for the use of these funds are made by the Recreation Board.

Council approved the purchase by the Recreation Board of nine disk golf baskets with funds to come from the Recreation Board reserve fund.

A bylaw was introduced, given three readings and adopted, to enter into a tax concession agreement with Ritchie Industries Inc. for abating a portion of taxes for the purpose of economic development.
