The Town of Preeceville council discussed many topics at the regular council meeting held August 17. Council approved the minutes from the July 22 meeting.
Town council acknowledged and supported the Preeceville Pickleball Club's initiative to from a volunteer committee to rehabilitate and maintain the Preeceville tennis courts. Councillor Welma Bartel was appointed as Town Council representative to the committee.
Council approved the re-opening of the Preeceville Highway East Campground and the Preeceville Sports Grounds.
Council acknowledged the Preeceville Public Library opening to curbside pick up only services in accordance with the guidelines established by the Parkland Regional Library. In order to accommodate the library reopening to the public, the Town is to install a front counter barrier.
The Preeceville Community Legion Hall will reopen to the public in accordance with the provincial re-opening plan and guidelines. The town has also updated its rental agreement.
The Waste Water Treatment Facility project report provided by Colliers Project Leader was acknowledged and accepted.
New speed limit signs and pedestrian crossing signs were to be put up at Annie Laurie Lake Beach to assist with controlling traffic.
The Town of Preeceville purchased a new 2020 Case 621G loader at the cost of $168,973. The 2013 Case 621 F loader was traded in for the new one.
Reports that were provided and accepted were: the chief administrator, foreman, community development, bylaw, Mayor and recreation.
Council accepted the proposal from Sun Dog Consulting for cleanup of abandoned聽聽 properties.
The property owners at 633 Third Street Northeast were in violation for not paying a notice that was issued by the Town under the Animal Control Bylaw. The issue will now be forwarded to the Town's lawyer to enforce the issue in court.
Town staff and councillors held a golf and supper appreciation event on July 31.

The Town of Preeceville made a donation of $1,000 to the Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan to purchase surgical and lab equipment for the Yorkton Regional Hospital.
