Promotion of a seniors’ condominium project in Canora and an amendment to the nuisance bylaw were among the items of concern to town council at its regular meeting on August 6.

Developer Michelle Bailey met with council to discuss promotion of a seniors’ condominium project in Canora. Council approved Bailey’s request to erect a seniors’ condominium project sign along Norway Road provided it complies with the provisions of the sign bylaw.

Council adopt the asset management plans for water mains, road bed and road cap.

A bylaw to amend the nuisance bylaw was introduced, read three times and adopted. The bylaw was amended to read that no owner or occupant of land or buildings shall allow the land or buildings or any adjoining boulevards or lanes to be overgrown with grass or weeds or become untidy and unsightly.

A bylaw to enter into a funding agreement to update the signage for the portion of the Great Trail, formerly known as the Trans Canada Trail, which runs through Canora was read three times and adopted.
