The Town of Preeceville council approved the quote from S-Elect Energy to replace the existing light fixtures on the ice surface at the Preeceville Skating Arena with new LED fixtures during its regular council meeting on March 13, according to Lorelei Karcha, administrator.
The town approved its contribution of $1,000 to the business, volunteer appreciation program developed by Andrea Tonn, recreation director and the Preeceville Recreation Board. The program promotes community involvement and volunteers in the community.
Council agreed to meet with the Harvard Royal Canadian Air Cadets squadron sponsoring committee to discuss the Preeceville Community Legion Hall lease agreement. The meeting was held March 20 with Julie Carlson, Heather Prestie and Tabitha Albas, cadet sponsoring committee members. No other information was available.
The Town approved its participation in the Communities in Bloom 2019 program.
The Tattle Systems Access Agreement with North Star Systems was approved to be renewed for three years. The company monitors units located at the Town's well building water treatment and lift stations.
The town entered into an agreement with Ralph and Lynn Ager on cemetery improvement project where approximately 63 trees are to be purchased and planted in the public section of the cemetery to enhance that area.
Welma Bartel, councillor was appointed as the Town of Preeceville representative on the Parkland Regional Library Board with Maureen Johnson as alternate.
