One of the perhaps most iconic faces of the Conquest Merchants senior hockey team has been gifted with thousands of dollars courtesy of a recent GoFundMe crowdfunding initiative.

Started by Connor Ogilvie, the online campaign simply titled, 鈥淎ttention all merchants and merchant fans鈥 began on April 30 and to date has raised over $9600, soaring well past its original financial target of $6000.

Terry Joyes, the man known as Jerome to friends and family alike, is in the fight of his life against cancer, and on top of this, his farm recently had a fire that called out the Conquest Fire Department.聽 It was in the aftermath of the blaze that Ogilvie decided to establish the fundraising campaign.

We need your help!

Your Captain needs an assist from us!

Jerome is currently fighting the biggest and meanest opponent he has ever fought, and we all have seen what he can do when he sets his mind to it.

We all have to admit that as a player or fan he earned your respect with his leadership and determination like no one else you know.

He now needs our help

In the middle of his treatments he has had a fire on the ranch.

Fortunately no one was hurt but corrals need repair and firefighting costs need to be paid.

Lets help the Captain and stand up for him now like he stood up for us!

Please donate to this go fund me page to make things a little easier for Jerome.

He would never ask for help and probably would kill us for doing this

Let鈥檚 reach out and give him a hand up.

Us local boys will fix the corrals

Let鈥檚 do what a merchant would do!鈥
