Captain Brian Belitsky of Yorkton Fire Protective Services surveys the edge of a fire that consumed the better part of a quarter section (160 acres) of crop stubble and cat tails just east of Yorkton on Hwy 10, May 20. A pickup truck 小蓝视频 used to refuel tractors experienced a mechanical failure and caught fire. Recent dry weather and a substantial wind provided perfect conditions for the blaze to spread. Fearing the flames would jump the road, police closed the highway for approximately 45 minutes rerouting traffic onto the grids. Ultimately, the fire was contained by letting it burn toward a slough on the south and using deep tillage of the soil to prevent it from spreading north and east.Thom Barker
