The Preeceville Minor Hockey Association hosted an emotional, heart-wrenching candle-lit vigil on April 8. The vigil focused on paying tribute to and mourning the 15 team members and support personnel who were killed and the others who were seriously injured in an accident near Tisdale on April 6.

Hockey players, coaches, parents and community members were all visually affected by the accident and service as they gathered to show support and remember those who were killed.

"Tonight we saw an incredible show of support from our community," said Candace Kuta, one of the organizers. "Close to 200 gathered to pray for and support the families and friends affected by the Humboldt Bronco tragedy. Hockey isn鈥檛 just a sport, it is a family and we want our friends, neighbours, and the community of Humboldt to please know, we are here to lean on. This tragic event has deeply affected everyone," she said.

Kuta was deeply affected on a personal level as she is originally from Humboldt. "Humboldt was my home for many years and to see the outreach of support from our community and around the world is absolutely incredible," she concluded.
