“We continually assess customer demand to make sure we are optimizing our branch network, and as a result, we sometimes make decisions to open or close branches,” stated Geraldine Anderson manager of Corporate and Public Affairs, TD Bank Group.
“After a careful review of a number of factors, including a decline in customer traffic and transactions, we have made the difficult decision to close our Preeceville branch and transfer accounts to our Yorkton location, on September 28," she said.
Anderson said TD Bank has reached out to its customers to inform them of this change to help make the transition, and is actively working with its employees to identify alternative roles where possible.
"The Yorkton branch, located at 63 Broadway Street East, provides longer hours to serve our customers, and will have more staff to offer a wide range of services including wealth management, small business and agriculture banking. Additionally, customers can continue to access their accounts at any of our locations and through mobile, phone and Internet banking.
“We will be holding a community information session to answer questions about the closure. And we continue to work individually with our customers to address their specific needs ahead of the transition." concluded Anderson.
