Rob Wilcott, president of the Sturgis branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation gave a brief overview of the club's highlights during the Sturgis branch annual banquet and awards on April 13.
"Tonight we gather in honour, recognition and appreciation of all the excellence of hunters and anglers," stated Wilcott. "We are continuing with our ongoing agreement with the Preeceville wildlife branch that allows all active members access to our gun range. Norman Johnson is once again teaching the hunter safety course. We are now into year four of a five-year lease with Peniuk Farms.

The club's donations made through the year were to: Habitat Trust, Youth Conservation Camp, Hannin Creek Education Facility, Filling the Gap and Sturgis Mini-Miracle.
The first day of fishing season is May 5,鈥 he stated.
Wilcott also spoke on the youth camp, the study on public opinions on access on private land, the benefits of buying a membership and the local closure of the ministry of environment offices.
