The Etomaimie Valley Riders horse club sponsored a gymkhana event on the Sturgis sports weekend on June 23 and 24.
"Riders in the weepee, peewee, junior and seniors’ categories all competed in events throughout the weekend," said Darlene Walker one of the organizers.
Lexi Young and Jen Hue shared the responsibility of announcing during the weekend.
The games event in all age categories was rained out on Sunday.
Weepee barrels events on Saturday and Sunday featured Shyann Lindholm of Lintlaw winning first on both days. On Saturday, Ella Sywenky of Hudson Bay won second followed by Emma Young of Weekes who won third. On Sunday, Dallas Liebrecht of Saltcoats won second place and Ella Sywenky won third place. Shyann Lindholm was the two-day high point winner.
In the weepee poles event on Saturday and Sunday, Shyann Lindholm placed first and was also the two-day high point winner. On Saturday, Ella Sywenky won second and Emma Young won third. On Sunday, Ella Sywenky won second and Dallas Liebrecht of Saltcoats won third.
In the weepee games on Saturday, Emma Young won first, Ella Sywenky won second and Reed Galloway of Swan River won third place.
Other competitors were: Savannah Neilson and Ariana Neilson both of Preeceville; Mercedes Lindholm, Duncan Hodgetts and Paisley Hodgetts, all of Lintlaw; Thea Young of Weekes and Kameryn Liebrecht of Saltcoats.
In the peewee barrels on Saturday, Clai Longman of Kelvington won first; Wyatt Hue of Hudson Bay won second and Kiera Lazar of Wadena placed third. On Sunday, Longman won first; Kiera Lazar won second; and MacCoy Galloway of Swan River won third. On Sunday, Clai Longman won first; Kiera Lazar won second and MacCoy Galloway won third. Clai Longman was the two-day high point winner.

In the junior barrel events on Saturday, Brooke Boychuk of Hudson Bay won first; Kaleigh Keefe of Swan River won second and McKenzie Hue of Hudson Bay won third. On Sunday, Boychuk won first; Keefe won second and Chayanne Hue of Hudson Bay won third. Boychuk was the two-day high point winner.
In the junior pole events on Saturday, Chayanne Hue won first; Kaleigh Keefe won second and Brooke Boychuk won third. On Sunday, McKenzie Hue won first and third place (on different horses) and Boychuk won second. Boychuk was the two-day high point winner.

On Sunday, Blaze Peterson of Porcupine won first; Jodi Suchoplas won second and third (on different horses). Suchoplas was the two-day high point winner.
