The Sturgis sports grounds were alive with action when eager fans took to the grounds for the Sports and Rodeo weekend on June 23 and 24.
The weekend kicked off with a pancake breakfast at the Sturgis READ Club.
The Etomaimie Riders Club hosted gymkhana events on both days with several participants.
An outdoor trade show featured different vendors displaying their products. Vendors over the two days included:Linda Button, Caleigh鈥檚 Crystals; Barry Wasylenchuk, B R Honey; Anna Thickson, Granny鈥檚 Soaps; Pam Schmuck, Scentsy; Ashlee Jaeb, custom painting; Royal Ford; Meagen Strauss, Alchemist鈥檚 Circle Gifts; Elsie Jensen, Tupperware; Shannon Prestie, Lone Tree North Jewellery; Chris Maygard, Carico; Theresa Nabe, Prairie Western Rustic Art and Eugene Tretiak, woodworking.
Children's activities were held on the Saturday through the Family Resource Centre.
The Ranch Rodeo showcased the many talents and skills of its cowboys entered in the program. It concluded with fun sheep riding event for local children.
The entertainment scheduled for the mini outdoor stage on Saturday was moved to the beer gardens due to wet conditions and featured Tony Genoway, Kelly Procyshen, Tent Prekaski, Lynnel Person, Thomas Hazlett, Dianne Prekaski, Jesse Genaille, Sherry Lesser and Les Terry.
Fireworks and a Kinsmen cabaret with music by The Zuchkan Band concluded the Saturday events.

A car, truck and motorcycle show and shine featured 19 entries with awards for vehicles entered in 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s categories and best truck, best motorcycle and tractor category.
The chuckwagon and chariot races were a highlight of the weekend. There were 56 chariots racers and 33 chuckwagon entries. The Eastern Professional Chariot and Chuckwagon Association hosted the event.
The top three chariots racers over the two days of racing were: Casey Peterson, Carol Hooge and Twyla Salmond
The chuckwagon races were only held on June 23 due to the wet track conditions on June 24 that forced the chuckwagon races to be cancelled due to unsafe conditions. The top three racers were, Casey Peterson, Colt Peterson and Larry Salmond.
