The Preeceville and Sturgis Care Homes were recently united under one operation when Bev Berger and Art Crozier, Preeceville owners, purchased the Sturgis home on May 1.

An open house was held on May 26 to introduce and welcome them to the home. Terry Dennis, Canora-Pelly 小蓝视频 was also in attendance.

"Let Our Residents Dance Care Home Inc. is very pleased that after seven years of owning and operating the Preeceville Personal Care Home, we were given the opportunity to have the Sturgis and District Care home join our care family," said Bev Berger. "Both care homes will work hand-in-hand to enrich the lives of our pioneers who made Canada great.

"We had heard a rumour that the Sturgis Care Home was going to close and we made the decision to put in a proposal to purchase the home. There is a real need between the two communities to have two homes. It has taken a lot of paper work and restructuring but residents have had a minimum of disruption, with much gratitude to a great dedicated staff," she said.

The Sturgis Care Home has a 10 bed capacity with eight rooms and two double rooms. The Preeceville Care Home features a 30 bed capacity.
"May 1 was the official date that we took ownership. We could not have made this transition go as smoothly as it has without the help of a large group of people.

鈥淲e would like to thank all the residents, and supporters of our communities of Preeceville and Sturgis, and those who attended our grand opening on May 2,," said Berger. 鈥淲e look forward to serving both communities and thank you for your continued support through our ventures. Congratulations to Diane Lowe who won the raffle prize at the grand opening, " said Berger.
