Students recognized for winning Legion contest entries

Sturgis Elementary School students were presented awards for their winning entries in the Legion鈥檚 Remembrance Day poster and poem contest on April 12.

Students from the Sturgis Elementary School were recently presented awards for their entries in the Remembrance Day poster contest. From left, were: (back row) Bailey Peterson and Betty Lou Skogen, Denise McGonigal, Rachael Maher, Laura Dahl, Smith Thomson, Barb Fraser and Donna Lulashnyk, all representatives from the Legion; and (front) Natalie Gregory, Avery Seversen, Kaiden Masley, Skylar Ryczak, Cole Masley, Cole Secundiak, Jon Alblas, Nathan Anaka, and Coby Head.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽聽Sturgis Elementary School students were presented awards for their winning entries in the Legion鈥檚 Remembrance Day poster and poem contest on April 12. Betty Lou Skogen, Denise McGonigal, Rachael Maher, Laura Dahl, Smith Thomson, Barb Fraser and Donna Lulashnyk, all representing the Norquay Legion, made the presentations.

Students in grades 1, 2 and 3 who received awards聽in the posters category, were: Cole Masley (first place) and Cole Secundiak (second place). Natalie Gregory received an honourable mention.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Students in the grade 4, 5 and 6 who received awards in the colour posters category were Kaiden Masley, first place, and Skyler Ryczak, second place.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In the black-and-white poster category, Coby Head placed first andBailey Petersen received an honorable mention.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Jonathon Alblas placed second in the poem category.
