聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Of the many poems, posters and essays created by five Kamsack students that had placed well at the local level in the Royal Canadian Legion鈥檚 annual Remembrance Day competition, five placed well at the zone competition, and two of them had done well at the district competition.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 At the district level, an essay written by Keanna Romaniuk, a Grade 10 student at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute, placed second in the senior category. Her essay had placed first at the zone level.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An essay written by Makayla Romaniuk, Grade 8, placed third in the district competition in the intermediate level. Her essay had placed first at the zone level.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A colour poster created by Katelynn Gouge, Grade 5, placed third in the intermediate level in the zone competition; a poem by Laurissa Fedorchuk, Grade 12, placed second in the senior level at the zone competition, and a poem by Rylee Zbeetnoff, Grade 7, placed third in the intermediate level at the zone competition.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Presenting awards last week to the students on behalf of the Kamsack branch of the Royal Canadian Legion were Judy Green, secretary, and Sharon Rudy, second vice-president.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Entries that did well at the district level will advance to the provincial level, and from there, the winning entries are submitted to the national competition
