With more than a year to go in his four-year term, the reeve of the RM of St. Philips has resigned.
Reeve Bernie Vogel resigned his seat effective April 18, said Frances Olson, the administrator.
Nominations for a successor will be received until July 17, Olson said. If more than one person is nominated, a vote will be held August 21.
Asked last week for a reason for his resignation, Vogel declined comment.
The new reeve will be serving on council with existing members: Larry Mosiuk of Div. 3; Ron Sorrell, Div. 4, Bernie Mosiuk, Div. 5, and Conrad Vogel, Div. 6.
The terms of the reeve and councillors of divisions three and five will expire in October 2020.
