聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 An exciting event sold out quickly and provided 55 women with entertainment and a piece of their own artwork.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Paint the Town Red Paint Night was held at the Legion hall dugout on November 4, with all 55 spots for the event filled. The event involved the presentation of a painting, chosen by Candace Doogan, one of the organizers for the event. Each person then copied the painting onto her own canvass to create a piece of art she could take home after the event.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚t鈥檚 amazing how one featured picture can be portrayed 55 different ways,鈥� Doogan said.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Among the painters were Donna Hlslop, a painter from Regina, and her husband Darcy.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Doogan鈥檚 fellow organizers, who she calls 鈥淭he Party People,鈥� were Tricia and Sandy Bedore of Rising Stars Child Centre. They helped organize the painting event, as well as the other features of the event.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Women were treated to drinks at the wine and cocktail bar as well as a full appetizer lunch, a photo booth to take pictures, and music from a sound system provided by Glen Leson.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Four vendors attended the event so women taking a painting break could shop. Megan Mickelson sold Scentsy products, Sabrina Fullawka managed the Thirty One Gifts booth, Holly Hanley sold Colour by Amber products and Jean Norberg provided Younique make-up. An auction table was also arranged.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prizes were won through a 鈥淏ust or Butt鈥� 50/50 draw, where a woman鈥檚 measurements in a certain area decided how many tickets she could get, and through various door prizes.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Doogan said she wished to thank the sponsors who made the event possible as well as all the girls who attended. Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Canora branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
