The sixth annual Hint of Garlic Festival and Trade Show was well attended, exceeding last year鈥檚 numbers, according to organizers.

Once again the event was held on the second Sunday of September and featured strains of locally-grown garlic, garlic products, recipe books, and the T-shirts which have become a popular symbol of the event.

Other featured vendors included: Sharon Rudy with framed photographic art; Norma Woodward with Avon; Alfredo Converso with garlic and garlic products; Nancy Weinhandl with 鈥淚 Used to Be,鈥 treasures made of recycled materials; Kevin Straub with garlic and garden produce; Nicola Straub with Sweetlegs leggings; Barb Fraser of Tadmore with VoxxLife, products to promote wellness; Alva Beauchamp with 鈥淎 Bag for all Reasons,鈥 durable and versatile tote bags made from pet screen; Laura Dahl of Norquay with Uff Da, a line of plant-based handmade products, along with Thieves essential oils; Verna Larson of Sturgis, wellness co-ordinator and health educator with 鈥淏ack to Basics,鈥 promoting better choices for health; Gerald Kuzma of Preeceville, sales representative with Combined Insurance, and John Adamyk with garlic.

鈥淲e had a constant stream of people visiting the Legion for the Festival this year, and the vendors enjoyed the event right up to the end,鈥 said Jim Woodward, prime organizer of the event. 鈥淭here was no mad rush, just a nice group of people who interacted really well, asked questions and enjoyed themselves.

鈥淭his year there were a number of new visitors, especially from out-of-town, to the Festival who were very pleased with the event and wondered why they haven鈥檛 heard of it before. The T-shirts were an azure blue this year. Always a popular part of the Festival, we had a number of people make requests for a red/pink version so stay tuned for next year. In past years we have had white, dark blue, purple, yellow and green.

鈥淲e are excited to be planning next year鈥檚 Festival so mark your calendars and save the date for September 13, 2020,鈥 he said.

鈥淚鈥檇 like to acknowledge everyone who came out and supported the Festival. For without you it just wouldn鈥檛 work. I acknowledge the vendors and those who helped behind the scenes. Hope to see you next year.鈥
