Stephen Ruten, who is a driver of the Kamsack Handi-Bus, took a moment to stop on Friday and chat with Terry Eagles, a bus driver for STC, currently staring at unemployment after the announced dissolution of the bus service by the Wall government budget brought down in March. Eagles said he has been an STC driver for 29 years, and has been on the Kamsack route for the last five, ever since Swan River was deleted from the route. Ruten expressed his displeasure with the axing of STC, noting that his children have relied, and still rely on the bus for transportation. Cutting the service will leave an irreplaceable void for small rural communities such as Kamsack, he said.
