The Saskatoon Fire Department officially welcomed three new firefighter-paramedics at a small 小蓝视频 Friday afternoon. The recruits were introduced at Fire Station No. 1 and were presented with their badges and station assignments. The event was captured on video and streamed in real-time for the graduates’ families.
“We’re thrilled to welcome these graduates to our firefighting family. Each graduation 小蓝视频 is an opportunity to spotlight the exceptional men and women who have committed to serving our community. It’s important to recognize their success as future leaders of the [SFD],” says Acting Fire Chief Michael Ralston.
All three of the firefighter-paramedics are certified to the level of Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) and are licensed through the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics. As firefighter-paramedics, they are trained, prepared, and experienced in operating effectively on high-hazard emergency scenes.
“Every time we welcome a graduating class to SFD, we’re furthering our commitment to providing the best front-line emergency care possible,” added Ralston.
“Our fire department responds to over 16,000 incidents annually, which is why these recruits have gone through the rigorous training necessary to be a part of Saskatoon’s city-wide emergency response. These recruits have demonstrated impressive skills and dedication and I congratulate them on their hard work.”
The firefighter-paramedics will begin serving the residents and visitors of Saskatoon and surrounding area as early as Monday.
