Second facilitator hired at Kamsack Family Resource Centre

Another facilitator has begun working at the Family Resource Centre in Kamsack. Megan Peters of Norquay began working with Andrea Verigin at the end of July.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Another facilitator has begun working at the Family Resource Centre in Kamsack.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Megan Peters of Norquay began working with Andrea Verigin at the end of July. She is an early years facilitator at the Family Resource Centre which is located in Crowstand Centre.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The centre offers health and education services for families, which includes programming, Peters said last week. 鈥淲e focus on the early years, from maternal health to children of about three years of age.鈥

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Born and raised at Melfort, Peters attended the University of Saskatchewan in Regina and obtained a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology in 2013. She then worked as the assistant curator at the Melfort Museum, which is a year-round facility, and was in charge of educational programming.聽聽聽聽聽聽 In July, she moved to Norquay.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Among her interests, Peters says she loves to travel. She had led a Girl Guide unit to Mexico last year and has visited New York, Italy, France, England and Scotland.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚 love to play and teach piano, do yoga and I鈥檝e sung in a choir.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Veregin said that the centre is now mobile, so its staff will be able to travel outside Kamsack to offer programs and, for example, will be visiting Norquay to conduct a book time program.
