Saskatoon Police use Tazer when arresting man

Police say the man was combatant with officers

SASKATOON - A 19-year-old man was taken into custody following an incident that occurred on Dec. 16  that resulted in Saskatoon Police deploying a conducted energy weapon (CEW).

Saskatoon Police attended to a call of a suspicious person inside a business located in the 3300 block of 22nd St. West. While attempting to arrest the non-compliant individual, he became combative with officers. As a result, a CEW was deployed and police were able to gain control of the man and place him under arrest. The suspect was taken into custody, assessed at scene by Medavie Health Services, and subsequently transported to police detention.

This incident will be reviewed in accordance with SPS policy.
