Saskatoon Police use Tazer to arrest man in domestic dispute

Police initially were able to de-escalate the situation but when removing the man from the premises he became combative with police and a physical altercation ensued.

SASKATOON - A 32-year-old man was taken into custody following an incident shortly after midnight on Dec. 11 that resulted in police deploying a conducted energy weapon (CEW).

Saskatoon Police attended to a domestic dispute at a hotel in the 200 block of Marquise Drive. Police initially were able to de-escalate the situation, however, while removing the man from the premises he became combative with police and a physical altercation ensued.

The suspect refused to comply with police and a CEW was successfully deployed. The man was taken into custody, cleared at scene by Medavie Health Services, and subsequently transported to police detention.

This incident will be reviewed in accordance with SPS policy.
