聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽聽A new provincial initiative is challenging Saskatchewan residents to become more active in preparation for Canada鈥檚 150th anniversary.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Saskatchewan in motion is celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by challenging people across Saskatchewan to get active and playful in 2017 with their new website playinsk.ca and the ParticipACTION 150 Play List, said a release from Saskatchewan in motion.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The ParticipACTION 150 Play List is a national signature initiative that consists of 150 uniquely Canadian physical activities. It was created by Canadians for Canadians in order to celebrate both active living and Canadian heritage. The new Saskatchewan in motion website highlights all of the activities included in the Play List and how they can be accomplished in Saskatchewan. The website was developed in partnership with Saskatchewan Sport, the Ministry for Parks, Culture and Sport, the Saskatchewan Park and Recreation Association, and the Community Initiatives Fund.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Playinsk.ca is a go-to destination for people making sport and physical activity decisions for themselves and their families, said the release.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 "The ParticipACTION 150 Play List is a great initiative to get Canadians moving and we can't think of a better way to celebrate Canada than getting active and having some fun right here in Saskatchewan. Our goal is to increase opportunities for physical activity for children and youth in our province and playinsk.ca does just that. We challenge Saskatchewan communities, schools, workplaces, and families to show the rest of Canada that Saskatchewan is the most playful province," says Marnie Sinclair, manager of Saskatchewan in motion.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Thousands of Saskatchewan residents will have already gotten a head start on the list, which includes hockey and snow shoveling, but Saskatchewan in motion encourages people to tackle activities such as surfing or white water rafting right here on the prairies. The website is to be used as a resource for people of Saskatchewan to visit and start crossing items off the list. 聽聽 Saskatchewan聽in motion has a goal for Saskatchewan residents to show their playfulness and collectively accomplish all of the 150 physical activities on the ParticipACTION 150 Play List by the end of 2017, and will be planning many more initiatives this year to get people active.
Saskatchewan in motion is a province-wide movement of decision makers, influencers, leaders, educators, organizations and families working together toward a common goal: to get more kids, more active, more often. It provides positive solutions and simple tools to inspire communities, schools, and families to get kids moving.
