The Old Dog Run, that annual 168-kilometre trek on bicycle from Kamsack to Yorkton and back again has a new lead sponsor for the 2017 Run.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Kamsack Petro-Canada outlet has made a three-year commitment to the Old Dog Run to be the major sponsor, said Joe Kozakewich, an originator and annual participant of the Run which raises funds for a different charitable organization each year.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The 11th annual 2017 Old Dog Run is 小蓝视频 held August 12.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In addition to providing a significant cash donation each year, the Petro-Canada outlet will provide ancillary items including bottled water and ice, said Rob Ritchie, owner of the Petro-Canada outlet.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Petro-Canada will be working with Sas-Kam Sportsman for the printing and purchase of new T-shirts for the cyclists and support staff.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淲e thank Affinity for its sponsorship over the past three years and are happy to have Petro-Canada on board,鈥� Kozakewich said.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淭his year we鈥檙e raising money for the Kamsack Volunteer Fire Department which hopes to purchase rescue equipment,鈥� he said, adding that as in previous years, the cyclists will leave Kamsack at about 6 a.m., expecting to return by about 6 p.m., to a reception in their honour 小蓝视频 held at the Trackside Garden.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 It will be members of the fire department who will be organizing and working at the reception, which will include food, drink and entertainment.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Persons wishing to make donations to the cause are asked to make cheques payable to the Town of Kamsack and tax receipts will be issued to those whose contributions are of at least $10.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to this year鈥檚 Run,鈥� Kozakewich said, adding that of the eight or nine cyclists already registered a couple of them are rookies.
