Richardson Pioneer gives boost to new Sturgis playground

Richardson Pioneer presented the Sturgis Community Council with a donation that will be spent towards playground equipment for elementary students when they move into the high school in the fall.

Dallas Harrison, representative for Richardson Pioneer, Canora office, made the $15.000 donation on June 27.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The groundwork and equipment is scheduled to take place in July.

"The donation will greatly help us with our fundraising efforts," said Janice Beatty, SCC chairperson.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The playground equipment has a budgeted cost of $100,000. The SCC borrowed $70,000 from the Good Spirit School Division and was responsible for raising $30,000 of the rest of the funds required to purchase and install the equipment.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Other fundraising efforts include an oat field crop that is scheduled to be harvested in the fall.
