The return of the trade show to the town of Outlook is just over a week away, and organizers are looking forward to offering attendees a long list of activities to take in during the daylong event.
It鈥檚 the first big-time trade show in the community since 2016.聽 The following year saw the premiere of the Harvest Festival, and organizers took a bit of a break in 2018.
Now, the time has come to put another spotlight on local businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as visiting businesses and attractions, and all the action takes place at the Jim Kook Rec Plex on Saturday, September 21.
Spearheaded by the Outlook & District Chamber of Commerce, the event is coming together and seems to offer something for every age.
鈥淭hings are moving quite quickly, we are already two weeks away!鈥 exclaimed Kirisa Dahl of the Chamber in an email to this reporter.聽 鈥淎s of right now we have over 30 booths, with more expected to get their applications in next week.聽 Our superheroes, face painter and bouncy castles have all been finalized, so our Kids Zone is a go!鈥
The Kids Zone will no doubt be a highlight for the community鈥檚 youngest ones, but moms and dads will also be able to enjoy what鈥檚 小蓝视频 planned for the trade show.聽 For starters, your supper option is taken care of on-site as the Outlook Wildlife Federation will hold a Fish Fry starting at 4:00 pm.聽 And just in case you were thinking about what to do about breakfast too, there鈥檒l be a pancake breakfast in the rink lobby starting at 9:30 that will benefit Variety Place.
Dahl noted that the Chamber of Commerce asked local non-profits to sign up to work the breakfast, and in turn, they would get to keep the profits.
As well, guests can look forward to seeing a pie-eating contest, as well as other unique events such as a cake decorating contest.
鈥淭ina from the Outlook Bakery is sponsoring this event, and contestants will have to try and duplicate her cake design on a time limit,鈥 Kirisa explained.
Another activity that鈥檚 sure to be a hit will be the Baby Crawl event.
鈥淏aby Crawl will be an interesting one,鈥 said Dahl. 聽鈥淲e will have babies line up with moms and dads on the other end, and the babies will crawl to their parents. 聽The fastest baby wins, however, we will have some treats, toys and other distractions in the mix, so some babies may be side-tracked! 聽The winner will receive a $500 RESP to PCCU.鈥
Whether it鈥檚 checking out some interesting vendors, networking with local business owners and operators, filling your bellies, or even cheering on pastry-eaters and tiny tykes in contests, the Outlook & District Trade Show is sure to be a memorable event.
鈥淲e will also have a silent auction and who knows what our local vendors will bring out!鈥 said Kirisa. 聽鈥淚t should be a great day.鈥
