A.R Cash, the Johnny Cash tribute band, is set to put on a sold out concert on the stage in Preeceville on October 12, stated Stacey Strykowski, one of the organizers.
"The response has been huge and it has created a lot of excitement,” she said. “The tickets sold out quickly which is better than we anticipated. It will be a great evening packed full of great entertainment.
“We originally had set a goal of 325 tickets but they sold out within a couple of days. We decided to add more tickets because there was still so much interest. We have maxed out now at 410 tickets and those sold within 10 days. I feel bad that we had to turn people away,” she said.
The event is sponsored by the Preeceville and District Health Action Committee. All proceeds will be used towards health care in Preeceville focusing on doctor recruitment and retention, said Strykowski.
The concert style event will feature a full bar, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages and 50/50 tickets. A late lunch will be provided free of charge after the show.
Manitoba's Aaron Prociuk is the real deal when it comes to performing a tribute to Johnny Cash, stated information from the band’s website. Growing up in the countryside of East St. Paul and inspired by the music biopic “Walk The Line”, Aaron taught himself how to play guitar at the age of 15.
After mastering the lead work of Cash's guitarist Luther Perkins, he discovered he had a knack for singing Johnny Cash's music as well.
A.R Cash began in 2013 as a stylistically authentic tribute to Johnny Cash's music from the 1950's through the 1960's, and the members perform as if they’d been together their entire musical careers. With the addition of acclaimed country song stress to portray June Carter Cash, they have won the hearts of music lovers throughout the past year while performing in sold-out venues across Canada. Backing them is a veritable who's who of Manitoba musicians with the core members СƵ (lead guitar), Brian Lucoe (bass/keyboards), and (ܳ.)
"Our goal is to captivate the audience and bring them back to a time when Johnny Cash was a household name around the world," states Prociuk, "we perform the hits from only that era such as Ring of Fire, Jackson, and Folsom Prison Blues which makes us unique."
A.R Cash is available as a duo, trio or full band presentation to suit venues of different size from intimate to concert hall, fundraisers to festivals, as headliners or private events. Wherever they go, they attract ardent fans of the man in black who appreciate the music and A.R Cash's efforts to keep the history and legacy of unparalleled artists like Cash going strong, said the information.
