One of Outlook's most popular buildings is set to undergo major renovations that many are looking forward to seeing once completed, a project that many of those same people would say is long overdue for the decades-old facility.

The Civic Centre has long been the home of many wedding dances and public events, and work that begins this Monday will hopefully shape it into a vastly improved community facility and bring it into the modern age.

Kevin Trew, Chief Administrator for the Town of Outlook, says work on the building renovations, which carries a price tag of just under half a million dollars, is expected to take approximately 18 weeks, putting the completion date at roughly the same time people are wondering what to dress up as to go trick-or-treating.

"The project is set to start on June 14 and we expect it to take 18 weeks which will put the end date around the end of October," he said.聽 "The total cost is currently budgeted at just under $500,000.聽 Leeville Construction has been awarded the tender at a price of $400,102 however there are contingencies, engineering and local costs that will be applied to the project."

Included here is an image of the most recent plans, provided by Trew.聽 He notes that there is a small change in that the storage room door to the north of the stage will be a rolling overhead door rather than swinging doors, as seen in the plan.聽 Trew said that specific parts of the project due to the large nature may change in progress due to a number of factors.
