SASKATOON – A preliminary hearing has been set for two women charged with second-degree murder.
The hearing for Kathleen Papequash and Jade Gardipy-Bear is scheduled to begin on Sept. 12 in Saskatoon Provincial Court and will determine if there is enough evidence for them to stand trial.
Papequash and Gardipy-Bear are accused of killing a 52-year-old Saskatoon man in the city’s seventh homicide of 2021. Saskatoon Police didn’t release the victim’s name at the request of the family but say that the victim and Papequash were known to each other.
Police were called to a residence in the 500 block of Ave. X 小蓝视频 at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 2, 2021. They found a deceased man.
Gardipy-Bear is also charged with break and enter, possession of break-in tools, two counts of assault with a weapon, failing to appear in court, and theft.
The charges against Papequash and Gardipy-Bear haven't been tested in court.
