Preeceville Town Council discuss many topics

The Town of Preeceville council approved the minutes from the September meeting that was held September 16. A regular council meeting was held October 14 at council chambers at the Town of Preeceville administration building.

Council acknowledged the report of the Waste Water Project that was provided by the chief administration officer.

It was also approved to pay accounts for the Waste Water Treatment Facility Project that included: Colliers Project Leaders, $11,141; MPE Engineering, $57,354; Acadia Consulting Ltd, $996,473, and SaskPower, $17,267.

Council approved the withdrawal of $1,082,236 from the Town鈥檚 Waste Water Treatment Facility Project loan with the Crossroads Credit to cover accounts paid.

It was acknowledged that the Water Security Agency has provided an agreement with the Town of Preeceville to permit sewage works for the Waste Water Treatment Facility effective October 10, 2020 to October 10, 2025.

The Town Bylaw Enforcement Officer recommended an order under the Town's Nuisance Abatement to remedy an issue to owners/occupants at 32 First Avenue Northeast.

The lease agreement between the Town of Preeceville and Doctor Charanjit Shokar for a doctor鈥檚 residence from September 8, 2020 to September 7, 2021 was approved.

Reports acknowledged and approved were submitted by the Mayor, community development, recreation director, chief administrator and town foreman.

Council acknowledged that the Preeceville Arena Board established protocols in accordance with Public Health orders and guidelines for a safe reopening.

The town accepted the resignation of Shawn Kowal, Town labourer.

Town Foreman Ashley Ward registered for the Level 2 Waste Water Treatment Course through ATAP from November 23 to 27.

Building permits were approved to move a shed, construct a fence, perform interior building renovations and to construct a detached garage.

Council approved the Preeceville Wildlife Federation project to proceed with a fire pit and picnic area enhancement project at Annie Laurie Lake in memory of Darcy Rediger and the installation of a bench at the beach area of Annie Laurie Lake in memory of Orville Bjornstad. The town donated $250 toward the project.

The Town sent a letter to the Parkland Regional Library executive board requesting an annual general meeting as soon as possible to address all the members regarding the Region and the City of Yorkton intentions to create a municipal library and boundary.

Committee reports acknowledged featured: Preeceville Arena Board, Parkland Regional Library, Preeceville Fire Department, and Preeceville Economic Development and Tourism Committee.
