聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Preeceville School Community Council hosted its annual general meeting at the Preeceville School with 12 members in attendance on November 20.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The meeting鈥檚 main focus was the election of the new executive, reported Kim Murray, secretary.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Amanda Balyski was elected as chairperson; Kim Murray was electd as secretary and Kyla Galiz agreed to stay on as treasurer.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Directors are: Megan Maier, Gagan Kaur, Cynara Ford and Kim Sandager.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Stacey Strykowski will stay on as Town of Preeceville representative.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Morgan Mitchell and Olivia Chornomitz volunteered their time to babysit during the meeting.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Preeceville School Community Council also hosted a regular meeting after the annual general meeting.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The council acknowledged donations from the credit union and Home Hardware for the nutrition break.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 General and sexual diversity were discussed. The program is mandated by the provincial government for all kids that need help in this area. This year, the group has a few members participating. Staff that have been co-ordinating it includes Sarah Derouter, Bonnie Lizitsa, Sheila Klebeck and Ally Rock. Kent Seerey is the liaison.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Doug King and Kent Seerey have met with Donna Kreger to discuss proper administration procedures. They will address all staff with necessities that are required by each staff member. King and Seerey are to attend training to help all staff deal with this area correctly. This group is all about supporting diversity among all students and staff in the school.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The new student engagement survey was discussed. The new survey will be coming up in December for grades 4 to 10. It is optional for students in grades 4 to 6, but the council decided that the students in those grades will participate in the survey. It is mandatory for students in grades 7 to 10 to participate in the survey.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The North School Commity Council Symposium was to be held November 29 in Sturgis. Some topics that were to be discussed include budget, renovations and to hear what is happening in other places. Some of the Preeceville School Community Council members will attend.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Staff recognition awards for the 2017/2018 school year include recognition of Bonnie Lizitsa, James Prekaski and Mona Wiwcharuk, who are to be recognized for their 10 years of service. Sharon Bileski will be recognized for 15 years, and Bill Dodge and Loretta Prekaski, for 20 years each.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The council will be announcing dates in the new year to celebrate these accomplishments. Doug King will come back in January with dates for the recognizaton awards.
