“The Preeceville Funeral Home is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for our valued staff and helping the community we serve to do the same,” stated Raymond and Crystal Bailey of Preeceville Funeral Home.
"We are navigating through the changes this pandemic has had on us," they said. "Our team is always compassionate but now we are brave because we are the last responders. But even more than that, we are present to those who are suffering the death of someone loved in this unprecedented time. We are using technology such as live streaming more than we have in the past. We also have a record of families who would like public memorial services when it is possible to do so. We anticipate a busier than usual schedule when restrictionsare lifted.”
"We have been closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 response according to the guidelines and recommendations from Public Health Saskatchewan.
"We want you to know that we are open and available to help you and that we still respond to calls when a death occurs. We can make arrangements by phone if that makes you more comfortable. We offer Facebook or Zoom live streaming services to include anyone else, if travel or other concerns prevent anyone from СƵ with their family at this difficult time.
“We are keenly aware that anything that delays a funeral delays the natural mourning and healing process. Unfortunately, you cannot push “pause” on grief. With this understanding we encourage families to carry out the wishes of their loved one whether a casket burial or cremation. However, the gathering may have to be private, a graveside or a visitation only. We will provide a public gathering when the family requests (no additional cost) when it is safe to do so.
“If you are in attendance at a gathering please avoid shaking hands or physical contact with the members of the family, guests or our funeral home staff. Direct eye contact, loving words, and a warm smile can be as meaningful to the families as a traditional handshake or hug, especially during these difficult times.
“We appreciate the trust that you place in us. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and take actions necessary to help keep our staff and our community safe while providing the services you need during this difficult time. When someone loved dies, you may contact us any time.
“The Government of Saskatchewan is allowing 10 people or less for gatherings. You may also want to hold a public gathering at a later date. Please take care during this challenging time,” concluded Raymond and Crystal Bailey of Preeceville Funeral Home.
