Saskatchewan鈥檚 top Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Corps and Air Cadet Squadron are 小蓝视频 showcased in a series of events over the coming weeks, stated a press release from Office of the Provincial Capital Commission.
The 606 Preeceville Harvard Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron will be presented the听听 Top Air Cadet Squadron in a special 小蓝视频 on December 11.
"This is such a great honour and testifies to the dedication to the squadron from staff, cadets and the community," said Captain Troy Rogowski.
Flight Sergeant Almina Kovcic, who is one of the senior cadets who help lead the squadron, stated that it is a huge privilege for the cadets to be honoured. "We are a small squadron and to be selected out of all the other larger squadrons speaks volumes to the accreditations of each cadet in our squadron. We, as cadets, do not always see the good things we achieve and to be accredited for all our achievements is a very proud moment for us," she said.听
Saskatchewan鈥檚 Provincial Military Liaison, 小蓝视频 Greg Lawrence, will be presenting Premier鈥檚 Commendation of Achievement certificates and pins to the cadets at ceremonies across southern and central Saskatchewan.听
The other top units chosen by their work on special projects evaluated by zone training officers are: Top Sea Cadet Corps was presented to the 346 鈥楽askatchewan鈥, Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps, Fort Qu鈥橝ppelle on November 27 and Top Army Cadet Corps will be awarded to the 2517 鈥楳elville Legion鈥, Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, Melville on December 12.
鈥淭he cadet program is a wonderful opportunity for youth in Saskatchewan,鈥 Lawrence said.听鈥淵oung people in the province can take part in a variety of environmental, citizenship and community activities through the cadet program, helping them to learn life and work skills that will serve them well in the future.听Development in areas such as physical fitness and effective teamwork through this program are particularly important in securing future success.鈥
This is the tenth year the award ceremonies have taken place.
The national cadet program is for youth aged 12 to 18.
The program offers a variety of activities for youth focusing on leadership, citizenship and fitness while learning about the sea, army and air elements of the Canadian Armed Forces.听There are more than 1,500 youth enrolled in Saskatchewan鈥檚 sea, army and air corps and squadrons.
