Update: Human remains found during search for Meagan Gallagher

Megan Gallagher went missing in September 2020 and four months later Saskatoon Police treated her disappearance as a homicide.

Update: Saskatoon Police say that in their search for Megan Gallagher, human remains have been recovered. 

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Thursday, searchers on the river near the community of St. Louis located human remains. The SPS Forensic Identification Unit will be processing the scene and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service has been notified. Testing will be conducted to determine identity, say police.

The SPS Major Crime Section coordinated the search of the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Saskatchewan River following consultation with Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Ernie Walker and officials from the Water Security Agency. Assistance was also provided by a number of civilian search and rescue personnel, members of the Provincial Protective Services, along with purpose-trained K9 teams from the Calgary Police Service.

SASKATOON – Police are planning a search for Meghan Gallagher's body in St. Louis, Sask. area and have made more arrests.

On Sept. 29. the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section arrested Robin Tyler John, 34, at the correctional facility on the Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation and charged him with unlawful confinement and aggravated assault of Megan Gallagher. This is the eighth person arrested in connection to the investigation.

John was transported to SPS Detention and remains in police custody and is expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court Oct. 3.

Investigators anticipate additional arrests as the investigation progresses.
