Outlook Town Council News & Notes - May 24

The Town of Outlook council held a scheduled meeting on Wednesday night, May 24 inside the council chambers of the town offices building.

The Town of Outlook council held a scheduled meeting on Wednesday night, May 24 inside the council chambers of the town offices building.聽 Present were all councillors; Donna Smith, Maureen Weiterman, Kyle McLeod, Maureen Applin, Floyd Childerhose (called away, returned one hour into meeting), and David Simonson, as well as Mayor Ross Derdall, Administrator Trent Michelman, Assistant Administrator Laurie Lemon, Superintendent Luke Lockhart, and Recreation Director Jordy Jones.

A number of topics and issues were discussed, including the following highlights:

- 聽Administrator Michelman reported that the Town of Outlook logo has been copyrighted.

- 聽In the Rec Report, it was said that the Outlook Kinsmen Club and Riverbend Co-op would be helping to spruce up the Kinsmen Park in town this summer with any upgrades needed.

- 聽The sod for the Sask Avenue/McKenzie Street corner beautification project is set to arrive on June 1.聽 As well, a number of benches will be set up in the area, including those from the unused SkyTrail mezzanine.

- 聽An Edmonton-based company will be coming to look at the Outlook bowling alley to see what repairs/upgrades are needed.

- 聽Delegates representing the WaterWolf planning commission organization spoke to council about what the group has been up to in recent times, and wanted to know if the town would be open to 小蓝视频 involved with them in the future.聽 It was said that any discussions on the town鈥檚 involvement would be had at a future meeting.

- 聽The new doctor to be coming to work in Outlook will be starting orientation in Saskatoon in approximately three weeks, and is set to start at the clinic in a little over three months.

- 聽A motion was carried for the town to join Lake Diefenbaker Tourism.

- 聽A motion was carried to provide internet services at the town landfill.

- 聽A town staff and council BBQ was set for June 19.

- 聽A discussion on making U-turns in town came about after an inquiry was made, and the bylaw officer is set to speak with the RCMP on what is allowed.

- 聽Letters have been sent to local contractors on the matter of having lighting installed at the town entrance signs, with one responding so far.聽 As well, a decision will have to be made on what kind of lighting design, whether it鈥檚 a mounted light or installed from the ground up.
