This committee has been fundraising since December 2013 and after six years we are making our final report to the Town of Outlook as we turn over this function to the Town. There may be some donations still coming and should that happen they will be directed to the Town Office.
Our committee worked to raise $1,523,538.73 in cash and $31,441.42 in kind from Rafoss Plumbing and Heating for a total of $1,554,980.15. This exceeds our original goal of $1,500,000 but unfortunately falls short of the final cost. Still, we are pleased that our community has a fantastic pool.
The revenue totals sorted by dollar amount are included with this report as well as donors placed in the following categories, which is how we advertised during our fundraising.
Diamond: $100,000 and over
Platinum: $50,000 - $99,999
Gold: $25,000 - $49,999
Silver: $10,000 - $24,999
Bronze: $5,000 - $9,999
Champion: $1,000 - $4,999
We recommend that the five top categories be displayed on a plaque by the Pool. Furthermore, all donors over $1000 should be displayed in print form somewhere at the Town Office so that the public may view these gifts.
I have not included the names of the donors for each category. I leave that to Town Council to reveal when they follow up on our recommendation for a plaque of recognition. Having said that, I want, on behalf of our committee members, to thank everyone who contributed to this project and just once more, to urge anyone who still wants to help to send a donation for the Swimming Pool to the Town of Outlook. A receipt will be provided which can be used for income tax purposes.
We recorded over 700 donors to the pool. Many more supported the fundraising by purchasing raffle tickets, hamburgers, donating to and buying at the auctions, and donating to and buying at the months long garage sale. Five committee members stayed with the committee through to the end but there were many others who were involved over the six years. All this effort was greatly appreciated.
