聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Town of Norquay held its annual Santa Day on December 5 with a variety of fun activities for the whole family.

The day started at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Community Hall. The Norquay volunteer fire department donated the food for the meal, so the entire proceeds tallied up to $440.

The home-and-gift show, which had opened at 10 a.m., included numerous items for sale including: Tupperware, jewellery,聽hand bags, baking, decorations and Mary Kay products,聽just to name a few.

Activities also included face painting for the children by Doug Nelson and a聽Christmas tattoo station where Amanda Holinaty and Deena Cherewyk created sparkly temporary tattoos with glitter.

The Norquay Kin Club hosted a chili-and-sandwich lunch, which raised over $470.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Lloyd Smith and Morgan Wallington offered wagon rides around town on a beautiful day.

Santa Claus visited from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., when the children could come and tell 鈥渏olly old Saint Nick鈥 what they wanted for Christmas and have their pictures taken with him. The children received goodie bags that were handed out by Santa鈥檚 helpers.

The curling club graciously opened up the ice surface for everyone to come and enjoy a couple hours of free curling and then wings were sold following the curling.

The day concluded at the campgrounds with a tree-lighting 小蓝视频 when Christmas carols were sung. Residents of Evergreen Place had everyone in for hotdogs and hot chocolate that had been donated by Corner Gas.

The proceeds from the festivities totalled over $1,300 and are to be used for upgrades to the Norquay Communiplex.

A special thanks from the organizers went to: the women of the CIBC; members of the chamber of commerce, Kin Club and volunteer fire department; Maggie Lukey; Corner Gas; Larry and Laura Dahl, and 鈥渆veryone else who made the day a great success.鈥
