New Town Swimming Pool Taking Shape

Facility still needing $500,000 to be paid for

The new swimming pool facility 小蓝视频 built in Outlook just southwest of the Jim Kook Rec Plex has been taking serious shape lately, with progress on the construction coming along at a solid pace and the picturesque look of the future location starting to come together.

Aerial photos snapped by local resident Dean Weldon with the help of a drone camera show just how far the work has come in the nearly three months since Western Recreation began construction in early July, which includes the water and sewer lines that have been put in place, with the mechanical building slated to be next.

Tony Peter of the Pool Fundraising Committee credits giving organizations and the community with getting behind the project.

鈥淭his is happening because people have caught the vision of a new pool and have stepped up to support the project,鈥 Peter said in an email to The Outlook. 聽鈥淲e have raised $1,225,000, thanks to the generous support of some big donors, most recently Enbridge, and the support of individuals and families over the past three years.鈥

The final estimated cost of the facility is projected to be around $1.8 million, which means another $500,000 needs to be raised to have the pool completely paid for.聽 Peter remains optimistic about the dollars 小蓝视频 acquired and issued a type of 鈥榗hallenge鈥 for the public.

鈥淚s this possible? 聽Yes, make it a priority,鈥 he said. 聽鈥淩emember, when we started we challenged every household to give $1000 or more. 聽Ask yourself two questions: 聽Have I? 聽Can I? 聽Then go down to the town office and make a gift.鈥

With a number of recent events that have spoken to the love that people have for their country and community, Peter hopes that same spirit will carry over into support for the pool project.

鈥淭his year we've had two amazing events which showed the pride people have in this community,鈥 he said. 聽鈥淐anada Day saw people celebrate what this country means to us in Outlook. 聽The September Harvest Festival brought people out to celebrate what this town means to us. 聽Let's celebrate once more by completing the vision of a new pool that is entirely paid for. 聽Together we can do this.鈥
