Autumn's Place Grill and Dairy Bar opened for business in Sturgis on May 4 with overwhelming support, stated owners Chad and Kim Rose.
"We were looking at different options after we addressed the need for something in the town," said Kim. "The original idea of this type of business was to add to the Town of Sturgis. This business was not our first choice but after much research and finding the ideal structure known as a deluxe playhouse in Winnipeg we started making arrangements to purchase and moved this building to Sturgis in 2019."
The name, Autumn's Place Grill and Dairy Bar, came to the couple after they had tossed a few ideas around and came to the conclusion that they were going to name it after their 10-year-old daughter Autumn.
The building structure had to be modified to make room for the kitchen area.
There was also deck and picnic tables put up. The business offers all takeout foods of homemade burgers, chocolate and vanilla soft ice cream, 20 different hard ice creams, and a variety of specials.
The property was purchased from Brian and Connie Jakubowski and is a homecoming of sorts for Chad Rose as his mother Karen Rose had originally owned the property and operated a greenhouse.
Kim Rose has had some previous experience in the food industry with working at Descalchuk's dairy dip in Preeceville when she was in high school, the dairy dip in Preeceville under management of Julie Walker and working at The Chalet in Yorkton.
The couple is very appreciative of all its customers who have supported them.
