聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Maggie鈥檚, which is a new business that opened in Pelly on April 21, is a family-operated drive-in restaurant and ice cream shop located at 408 Fort Livingstone Road.
Lorilee Delawski of Rockford manages the business and works alongside her children, Meghan, Hailee, Tamara, Zachary, Wyatt and Hannah, while Delawski鈥檚 husband Murray calls himself the 鈥渟ilent partner.鈥
The name Maggie鈥檚 originated from their daughter鈥檚 name, Meghan. The business venture came to be when Meghan, who lives in Pelly, was looking for jobs outside of the community. Murray suggested they start something right there close to home where she didn鈥檛 have to commute or leave her young son.
When it came time to get the business going it became a family affair because 鈥渢hat鈥檚 what families do,鈥 Lorilee said.
鈥淚t gives the girls something to do instead of 小蓝视频 all over the place,鈥 Murray added.
Murray built the building from the ground up as he believes it is 鈥渂etter to work for yourself.鈥
The building is a red-and-white lake cabin-style building, and Lorilee calls it 鈥渟mall but expanding.鈥
Customers park on the street and walk up to the window to place their orders.
The family has spent many years working in skating rink kitchens and in the food industry so they were no stranger to the business.
The menu consists of burgers, wraps and ice cream and as of June 1, pizza was to be added.
The Delawskis will eventually expand the building to accommodate steak and wing nights, as well as full course meals.
鈥淧eople have thanked us for 小蓝视频 here,鈥 Lorilee said. Maggie鈥檚 is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
