Milden bar getting support with fighting COVID fine

The Outlook brought you the news back in December 2020 of the Milden Hotel, located in the village of Milden, 小蓝视频 levied a fine for violating the public health orders surrounding COVID-19.

In a video that was publicly posted on Facebook at the time, Christine Brown, owner of the establishment, had RCMP pay her a visit to issue the $14,000 fine for allegedly failing to follow mandates as it related to masking.

Brown at the time indicated in the video that she planned to fight the ticket when an opportunity arose for her to do so.

Apparently, that time has now come as a media firm from Ontario that has initiated a program aiming to help those who have been issued tickets related to the COVID-19 lockdown orders has indicated that it will help Brown with her upcoming legal battle.

The program, labeled as 鈥楩ight the Fines!鈥 by the at-times controversial media group known as Rebel News, intends on assisting Brown with her legal battle as it relates to her ticket issued by the RCMP.聽 This program helps out its clientele by paying legal fees or hiring attorneys, but it does not specifically pay the issued fines.聽 Instead, it intends on helping fight them.聽 The 鈥楩ight the Fines!鈥 program intends on raising $200,000 to help do this for others battling COVID-19 related fines and tickets.

From the Rebel News website:

鈥淓very single day we鈥檙e hearing stories of law-abiding citizens 鈥 families, really 鈥 who are 小蓝视频 ticketed and fined by overzealous police and bylaw officers for simply doing what the prime minister is doing.

We're not talking about the rambunctious house parties that fly in the face of social distancing and make a mockery of us all.

No 鈥 we're talking about people who are 小蓝视频 fined for going out for a walk. And we鈥檙e sick and tired of this double standard. So, we're going to fight back in court.

We are crowdfunding lawyers for Canadians who want to fight their outrageous tickets.

We're not going to PAY the fines. We are FIGHTING the fines.

We started this project back in April, we already have taken hundreds of cases, but we're not stopping, because we want to defend every single Canadian who gets a lockdown ticket (or at least the first 1,000).

We even won our first couple of cases already!

We are going to fight for Canadians civil rights.鈥

At the time of this issue, 8140 donors had given to the program.聽 It intends on reaching as many as 10,000 donors.

On the afternoon of March 22, Brown wrote on her Facebook page, 鈥淚'm so excited to have Rebel media willing to help me out with my $14,000 fine April 15th in court!鈥

Indeed, Brown鈥檚 first court hearing related to her levied fine is currently scheduled to take place in an Outlook courtroom on Thursday, April 15.
