Man sentenced for murder now faces aggravated assault charge

Tye Partridge was sentenced earlier this year to 15 years in prison for the murder of 20-year-old Damian Moosomin and now faces a charge of assault causing bodily harm in another incident.

SASKATOON – A 23-year-old man sentenced earlier this year to 15 years in prison for the murder of 20-year-old Damian Moosomin is now facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm in a separate incident.

Tye Partridge from Moosomin First Nation appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court in November on a charge of assault causing bodily harm. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. He is scheduled to appear in court by CCTV on Nov. 9

Partridge was charged last year with first-degree murder in connection to Moosomin’s death in North Battleford. In May he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. That day, Partridge had also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to two years concurrent.
