The names of two long term City of Yorkton employees will be put forward for Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) recognition.

The SUMA Awards Banquet will be held in January-February of 2016 in Regina.

鈥淎s in previous years, the City has endeavoured to recognize employees who have in excess of twenty (20) years of service with the City of Yorkton,鈥 explained Chris Wentzell Director of Human Resources at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday.

The City has put forward names for a number of years, noted Wentzell.

鈥淭here are over thirty (30) employees with twenty (20) or more years of service and many of these employees have previously attended the SUMA Banquet,鈥 he said.

This year Council was unanimous in supporting a motion to put forward the names of Bill Michalchuk and Randy Pister.
