聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Kaylie Bowes and Henry Thomas received the Grade 12 general proficiency awards that were presented during the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute senior Spectacular Spartans awards presentation on June 14.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The two students received their awards from Wendy Shabatoski.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The program, for which Cassidy Aker, the SRC president, and Allison Thomsen, the vice-president, were the emcees, had begun with the singing of O Canada by Elizabeth Hilderman and introductory remarks by Tracy Forsythe, the principal.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Kaylie Bowes also received the Super Spartan Award and was one of three students to share the award for having had the highest academic achievement. The other two were Jayden Raabel and Devon Klapatiuk. Teddy Hudye and Kyle Morgan were presented with the Grade 12 Carpe Diem Award by Darren Kitsch.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bowes and Thomas were named the top athletes of the year.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Allison Thomsen and Colin Tulloch received the Grade 11 general proficiency awards. Thomsen received the Super Spartan Award for having earned the most points and was one of four students to receive the award for having the highest academic standing. The other three were Michael Chan, Brayden Fatteicher and Mikayla Woloshyn. Fatteicher was also the recipient of the Grade 11 Carpe Diem Award.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Shani Bear and Lionel Cote received the Grade 10 general proficiency award. Bear also received the Super Spartan Award and was named the student with the highest academic standing in Grade 10. Mason Hausermann received the Carpe Diem Award.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In Grade 9, Julianna Raabel and Cade Henry-Martino received the awards for general proficiency. Raabel was also named the student with the highest academic standing, while Kailey Sterzer received the Carpe Diem Award.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Breanna Bland was presented with the perfect attendance award.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Governor General鈥檚 Award, which is for the student with the top academic average who had graduated in 2015, was presented to Jaelyn Dietz.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 KCI awards of excellence, for students who had gone above and beyond expectations were presented to Kaylie Bowes, Alison Thomson Lexie Tomochko and Devin Klapatiuk.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 On behalf of the school, Kevin Kitchen said goodbye to Greg Thomas and Ryan Stanko who are to leave the school at the end of June, and he presented a special East Central School Division Athletic Association award to Scott Tulloch, a teacher at the Victoria School, who has assisted with extra-curricular activities at the KCI.
