KCI archers attend NASP provincials

Student archers at Kamsack Comprehensive Institute (KCI) from Grades 5 to 12 competed in the provincial archery shoot in Moose Jaw on March 30.

Eleven students of varying skill levels participated in the NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) said Shannon Bielecki, a coach.

Student鈥檚 had been practicing every Friday since November, she said.

鈥淔or some, this was their first archery shoot competition,鈥 she said. 鈥淭he archers all did very well.鈥

During competition, they took part in the bull鈥檚 eye shoot which consists of shooting three rounds of five arrows at a target at 10 meters and then three rounds of five arrows each at 15 meters.

For the first time, the club took part in a 3D shoot which consists of shooting five arrows at various animal targets, Bielecki said.

Darren Kitsch is also a KCI archery coach, and Javan Davis is the club鈥檚 community coach.
