聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The 25 students of the Sadok Ukrainian Dance Club were on stage at the Victoria School on May 1 to perform their final concert of the 2015-16 season.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Kallie Haas of Calder was the instructor for the season which included members having attended two competitions: at Russell, Man., April 8 to 10, and at Saskatoon, April 15 to 17.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 With Chrissy Rosowsky as the emcee, the concert began with a Pryvit, or welcome dance, in which all of the dancers participated.
The Junior B group, which includes Brooke Taylor, Bobby Taylor, Boston Guillet, Haven Krawetz, Melody Lin and Faith Jaquet, performed a Bukovyna dance. The dance had received a mark of 82 bronze in Saskatoon and 85 silver in Russell.
Makayla Romanuik performed a Hutzul solo. Her dance received a mark of 85 to win silver in Russell and an 83 to win bronze in Saskatoon.
The beginner group comprised of Seth Symak, Peyton Reece, Rhys Lawless, Isobella Marsh, Jordyn Kazakoff, Sophia Walter and Taylor Thurlow danced a Poltava. The group attended the Russell competition where they received 90 to win gold.
Next on the stage was a trio of Bobby, Brooke and Tara Taylor. They performed a character dance for which they had received 83 for bronze in both Saskatoon and Russell.
The Junior A group, consisting of Kacee Kitche, Meesha Romaniuk, Layla Rapchalk, Trista Palagian, Ava Tomkulak and Finley Hudye, danced a Poltava. The group had received 93 to win gold in Russell and 90 to win gold in Saskatoon.
After the intermission, Haven Krawetz danced a Hutzul solo. For that dance, she had received 84 to win bronze in Russell and 86 for silver in Saskatoon.
Elizabeth Hilderman, the club's only senior dancer this year, performed a Transcarpathian solo. She had competed at the Russell competition, where she received 85 to win silver.
The intermediate group, consisting of Tara Taylor, Lee Tomkulak, Josh Hilton and Makayla Romaniuk, performed the Transcarpathian piece for which the group had received 85 to win bronze in Russell and 83 to win bronze in Saskatoon.
Layla Rapchalk, one of the junior dancers, performed a Bukovynian solo next. She had received 90 for gold for this piece in both Saskatoon and Russell.
Melody Lin and Faith Jaquet danced a Poltava Duet next. They received 87 for silver in both Saskatoon and Russell for their performances.
The Junior B group performed a second number, a Poltava piece. The group had received 90 for gold in Russell and 86 to win silver in Saskatoon for that number.
The last performance of the afternoon was the intermediate group's second dance, a Poltava piece for which the group had received 85 to win silver in Russell and 82 for bronze in Saskatoon.
