The winners of the 2018 Better Newspapers Competition were announced at the Better Newspapers Competition Awards Banquet on April 28 in Saskatoon, according to a release from the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association. (SWNA)
The Kamsack Times, published from the Canora office which also publishes the Canora Courier and the Preeceville Progress, won the award for the best overall paper in Saskatchewan with circulation under 1,200.
Each year, the member papers of the SWNA submit hundreds of entries showcasing their talent.
The Better Newspapers Competition is held each year from coast to coast, at both the provincial and national levels. It is the industry鈥檚 chance to recognize excellence among its peers. It is also a celebration of the vibrancy and health of community newspapers across Canada, said the release.
