Kamsack Hospital auxiliary makes “generous donation” to Health Foundation

Members of the Kamsack Hospital auxiliary recently made a “generous donation” to the Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan.

Members of the Kamsack Hospital auxiliary recently made a “generous donation” to the Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan.

On March 4, in the boardroom of the Kamsack Hospital, Ross Fisher, executive director of the Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, accepted a cheque in the amount of $5,000 from Diana Belovanoff, president of the Kamsack Hospital auxiliary.

The funds will be used by the Health Foundation for equipment purchases to enhance existing health services in the Yorkton region.

“Thank you very much for all the good work that each and every one of you do through the auxiliary,” Fisher said. “Not only are you directly helping those in the hospital by the services and assistance you provide on a regular basis, but you are all a great example to others in your community.

“Small communities are aware of the vital contribution of volunteers which help to keep the community vibrant,” he concluded.

The Kamsack Hospital auxiliary also made the following equipment purchases for the Hospital in 2019: an Elite Doppler, $1,300; Otoscope/Ophthalmoscope, $937; Vital Signs Monitor, $3,435, and two recliners for the doctor’s lounge, $2,540.

One other contribution fully-funded by the auxiliary has been the Family Room at the Hospital.

“This is a safe and secure area for consultation between medical staff and patients’ family, and also can be used for overflow family members from the Palliative Care Room,” said Belovanoff. “It’s for day use only, but it provides a private and confidential environment when it is really needed.”
