聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The 2016 rural municipality election results are in for the RM #305 of Invermay as it welcomes a new reeve to the table. Newly elected Bev Whyatt won with 203 votes, defeating Viola Bell, who had 39 votes.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bev grew up in the Yorkton area and as an adult she raised her family in the Otthon area. She has two children and four grandkids. Bev moved to the Rama area in 2012. She worked underground production at the Mosaic potash mine in Esterhazy from 2000 to 2014, then worked on a project until 2016 updating and writing manuals and procedures for Mosaic.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 This busy woman drives the school bus for the Good Spirit School Division, works part time at Canada Post and helps out at the family farm. While raising her family in Otthon, she served as councillor for one and a half terms, so when elections came up in 2014 for her division, she entered her name and was successful.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 "I enjoy working with the ratepayers in solving issues and helping to make their lives better," said Reeve Bev Whyatt.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There is no better time to live in a small Saskatchewan town than perogy supper season. 聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 On November 6, I was fortunate to attend the Ukrainian Catholic annual perogy supper. The weather was excellent and so was the meal which was prepared by some of the best cooks in the community. The perogy pans are huge and sit alongside dishes of onions and butter, sour cream and creamy mushroom gravy.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supper was followed by dessert, a good cup of coffee and a visit with people from neighbouring communities.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A聽University of Saskatchewan student, Kimberly Dutchak, is on a fall midterm reading break visiting family in Rama.聽 Kimberly is the vice-president of marketing at Edwards Business Students' Society. This accounting and marketing queen oversees a team of 12 and is responsible for all marketing events. Kimberly will graduate in April with a bachelor of commerce degree in accounting.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Her future after graduation is a position with MNP LLP, which is one of the largest full-service chartered accounting and business advisory firms in Canada.
