Let鈥檚 make sure everyone, young or old, male or female, has warm feet this winter.

Chiropractors across Saskatchewan are aiming to collect 15,000 pairs of socks for the fourth annual Toasty Toes Sock Drive, and distribute them in partnership with The Salvation Army, said a release.

Saskatchewan chiropractors believe that no one should have to suffer through the province鈥檚 coldest months without socks on their feet. 鈥淐ollecting and donating socks is one of the ways we can help those in our communities,鈥 said Dr. Kevin Henbid, president of the Chiropractors鈥 Association of Saskatchewan, in the release. 鈥淪askatchewan chiropractors are proud to rally around this cause.鈥

The Strukoff Chiropractic Clinic in Kamsack is participating in this initiative, and have a box set up at the clinic to accept donations.

鈥淵ou don鈥檛 have to be a chiropractic patient to donatesocks for this initiative,鈥 said Dr. Wayne Strukoff. 鈥淎nyone is welcome to stop in and drop off socks for individuals of all ages.

鈥淭his is our second year participating in this worthwhile 鈥楽ock Drive.鈥 The last time, we gathered 215 pairs of socks and hope to beat that total this year,鈥 he said.

Socks are an incredibly important item for those trying to navigate the harsh winters in Saskatchewan, it said. Agencies that support individuals and families with limited means can never have too many quality socks to distribute throughout the winter months.

Over the last three years of this campaign, Saskatchewan chiropractors and their patients have collected over 50,000 pairs of socks. Each year, the socks are donated to The Salvation Army, who distribute them throughout the province to people who need them most.

鈥淚t鈥檚 incredible to see the community go above and beyond for those in need,鈥 said Blair Malazdrewich, divisional communications co-ordinator, The Salvation Army Prairie Division. 鈥淲e are inspired by the Chiropractors鈥 Association of Saskatchewan鈥檚 vision to give back by not only warming feet, but hearts as well.鈥

At a recent regional meeting of the Chiropractic Association, Strukoff heard comments about previous Sock Drives, and how 鈥渁 new, warm, dry pair of socks can really bring a smile to the face of those in need during a cold winter.鈥

Participating chiropractors鈥 offices will collect new pairs and packages of socks for all ages from September 23 to November 22. To find a chiropractor鈥檚 office, or for more information, please visit www.saskchiro.ca.
